Hello!!! I know you've all been very curious about what I've been up to. Well, here's one thing:
I know, I know. Mayonnaise? Really? Oddly enough this was a request made by my mother for her birthday. It is now hanging in her office. I wonder what kind of comments she gets on it because, really, who has a painting of a jar of mayonnaise hanging in their office? Anyway, although this was just kind of for fun, I kind of pushed myself by using such a large canvas. You can see it's almost as tall as the banister. Here's a picture of me working on it! Clearly this was done during the summer.
This is the largest I've ever painted and turns out I loved it. My works in high school were mostly done on 5x7 boards and canvases (with a few exceptions). Making those look good could be very tedious at times. Painting on such a large scale (large to me, at least) allowed me to be a little messy but also get the details in there, which was a lot of fun. Clearly it's not perfect and it's the first real painting I've done in a while, but what's the fun in perfection anyway?
